WAHOO’S NIGHT – MONDAY APRIL 22
Just a week away from the Wahoo’s fundraiser night on Monday April 22nd, between 4:00-9:00pm at the Park Meadows location…officially on Dry Creek Road, off Chester, near Guitar Center. We will get 50% of the proceeds so please come out, encourage your friends, spread the word at AHS. A flyer is attached if you want to share with friends.
JEFFCO INVITATIONAL FRI/SAT
A detailed overview of times and events is attached to this document.
Friday: 2:45pm JV Diving, 5:00 Varsity Swim Prelims
Saturday: 8:00am JV Swim Prelims, 9:30am Varsity Dive, 4:00pm Varsity Swim
Jeffco has a JV component for their Invitational as well as Varsity. For JV, both Preliminaries and Finals take place on Saturday the 20th. Prelims start at 8:00am and Finals will start at 4:00pm along with Finals for Varsity.
From George Farner: We are entering two separate teams, Black and Gold. I have 37 boys total entered into the JV Invite. I need to know by Monday morning of ANY JV boys who will not be attending. We are limited to 4 entries per event. There are no deck changes or entries allowed that morning. I need to submit our lineup Monday evening. I CANNOT have boys taking up entry spots who end up not going for WHATEVER reason.
Any JV boys that cannot make it need to contact me ASAP by text at 303-513-7513 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The JV bus will leave AHS precisely at 5:45am. Do not be late.
JV preliminaries will end around 11:00. There is NO bus back at that time. I expect maybe 18-20 JV boys to qualify for Finals, either in Individual Events, Relays or both. JV boys who do not qualify for Finals have three options:
1) Go home with parent when prelims are over.
2) Stay and go to lunch with team, then get picked up and go home.
3) Stay for all day anyway and ride the bus back at the end of Finals around 6:30.
It is a longstanding tradition that the JV boys walk about 125 yards across the parking lot and have a nice, fun lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. They are used to us. Boys will need to bring their own money and know how to tip appropriately. I can help on that score. After that, the boys usually just rest, watch diving or otherwise amuse themselves. Myself and Matt will be there the whole time to supervise.
They would be wise to bring a pillow, blanket, or whatever to rest with. With 23 schools entered, it is crowded on the deck for swimmers and spectators. Besides the limited seating for spectators in the stands, there is a decent sized area for spectators with camp chairs.
I have tried to split the two teams fairly evenly so more boys will have an opportunity to qualify for Finals. Top 10 in JV portion advance to Finals. 20 for varsity.
Congratulations to Senior diver Zack Lefever who qualified for State at the Arapahoe Invite. All State qualifiers are listed on the right side of our webpage (by year and alphabetical)

several items: Sign up now to help with breakfasts, pennant cutting and
timing and more during upcoming Regis, Overland and Lewis Palmer home

A LEAGUE PROGRAM ADS
We are looking for advertisements for the A League Program. If you run a small business or work for a company that would like to support our boys, ads can be purchased for inclusion in the A League Program, pricing is below.
Full Page $100
Half Page $50
Quarter Page $25
Note: We will have Swimmer “Congratulations” spaces that parents can buy. Info for these in upcoming emails.
If you are interested please contact Tina Brewer 720-218-9468, or email@example.com A form for interested businesses is in the Documents folder on our web page.
Parents: We have had a special request to help with After Prom in two ways. First, we need some people to repair some of the casino games (two Plinko boards) before the May 4th prom date. This might be a great job for someone who’s good with their hands. And we also need people to volunteer for the casino room, setting up before, breaking down the next day and volunteering at After Prom. Please consider volunteering in one way or another. Contact Steve Brewer firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help.
HEART OF A WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP
*PARENTS—This is a great opportunity that Coach Taylor is leading. If you know a business that can help, please let us know. And if a parent is willing to take a lead on this project, please notify Coach Taylor. *
From Coach Taylor: I have been working on getting a scholarship built for the senior boys. I have all the approvals I need and am now in the process of building the scholarship committee, drafting qualifications, and pursuing donations. The scholarship will be called the Heart of a Warrior Scholarship. My goal is build a scholarship that allows a senior the opportunity to receive $1000 from their Freshman to Senior year in college. I’m reaching out to all of you to see if any of you own small businesses that would like to donate to the scholarship or work for companies that would be interested in contributing to the scholarship. If you have any interest, please reach out to me or Tina Brewer. Thank you!

KING SOOPERS CARD UPDATES
An update from the King Soopers organization about their new approach:
Dear Arapahoe High School Boys Swimming & DIving Team,
For more than 70 years, King Soopers has been committed to supporting the communities where its associates live and work. The King Soopers Neighborhood Rewards Program has helped nearly 5,000 organizations raise funds, and none of that would be possible without your support.
We know that supporting your community nonprofit should never be difficult. Starting on April 1st we are launching a new program to make it easier than ever before. This new program will allow those who support your organization to simply use their registered King Soopers loyalty card to earn funds for your organization.
Here’s How It Works:
· No more reloadable gift cards (this will now be tied to the King Soopers loyalty card)
· Share your organization or group number with friends, family, colleagues and mutual supporters
· It will pay out every quarter (starting at the end of 2nd quarter in 2019)
· Check and statement will be sent out 30 days after the end of the cycle
· Over TEN million dollars will be donated annually with this new program
· These links have great information to help with the process and answer most, if not all questions.
Your group members and supporters can enroll their King Soopers Loyalty Cards online at our secure website, www.Kingsoopers.com/communityrewards. Starting now, you can invite members to begin enrolling on-line. Starting April 1, 2019 every time an enrolled member of your group shops at King Soopers using his or her enrolled King Soopers Loyalty Card, your organization will earn rewards. In addition, once a household member enrolls his or her card, all linked King Soopers Loyalty Cards within that household will begin earning funds for your organization.
Thank you for being a part of the King Soopers Neighborhood Rewards Program. We look forward to continuing to partner with your organization in the future as a King Soopers Community Rewards member and the millions of ways we can make a difference in our communities.
Please send any questions to email@example.com
