Hope all of our Warriors are having a fun and safe summer!

From Coach Taylor/Lifting & Scholarship
Hey Warrior Parents and Swimmers! I am still ironing out details for the summer lifting program. Coach Richmond and I are working on getting days and times locked in for the weight room.

If any parents are interested in getting involved with the Heart of a Warrior Scholarship, please call, text or email me at 303-704-3181, taylorwatson1288@gmail.com or taylor.watson@edwardjones.com.
I know some parents were interested at the banquet. I wasn’t able to get your contact information there so please reach out to me. I need help!

All-American Photos
The only thing harder than getting an All-American time is to schedule the boys for a photo during the summer. Tina and Ben Brewer are working on this. All-American swimmers, please stay in touch with them regarding your schedules!

OUR 2020 CAPTAINS
Congratulations to Daniel Bensen, Jack Berdahl, Jack Giesen and Kieran Pope for being voted our 2020 Swim Captains.

CRUNCH CAMP
There is a great camp for competitive swimmers at Littleton High from June 10-14th. Their are groupings for younger and older swimmers, and the 13-18 group includes weight training and lots of swimming. There is a flyer attached with much more information.

VOLUNTEER THANK YOUS
Our team runs on volunteers and we can’t thank the 2019 volunteers enough for all the hours they put it to the team. We especially need to thank Sandi Stephenson and Lisa Wuthrich for being our Volunteer Coordinator Board Chairs the last couple years. They put in countless hours making sure the roles are filled for every meet and feed. Thank you Lisa and Sandi! AND we want to thank in advance our new Volunteer Board chairs—already big volunteers for the team—Beverly Carey and Nicole Greene.

ALL-AMERICAN PHOTOS
Tina Brewer has volunteered to photograph the All-Americans. Stay tuned for an announcement. The All American boys swimmers will need to organize themselves and coordinate with Mrs.Tina Brewer to make the picture happen. Swimmers should dress in their State Team gear. The picture will need to be taken at a swimming pool in the local community.

BANQUET FOLLOW UP
Thanks to everyone who made the banquet a great success. A couple follow ups from that event:

Awards – not picked up can be picked up in the swimming pool office by mid-September.

Banquet Memory Books – Unfortunately, the Copy Center at ESC failed to print all of the Season Memory books. We will pick up the additional copies and store the memory book in the pool office. If you did not receive a “season recap” memory book, you will be able to pick up a copy in the in mid-September.

NISCA ALL-AMERICAN AWARDS
Final results for the Academic and Swimming Athletic Awards should be compiled by mid-June. Check out the final results at:

END OF SEASON RECKONING!
From the Treasurer: Thanks for a great season and for all the wonderful help you all gave in supporting the team. As the season comes to an end I need to file a report with the district and in order to do so I need everyone’s reimbursements and/or outstanding payments by this Friday (unless it’s banquet related). Reimbursement requests must be accompanied with receipts supporting the request or they won’t be paid. Any committees that still have monies to be deposited please contact me to make arrangements to drop off the money. Also, please no creative financing (using funds from one activity to reimburse for another activity). Thank you!

IMPORTANT: KING SOOPERS UPDATE
Dear Families of AHS Boys Swim & Dive Booster Club:
I wanted to provide you with an update on the King Soopers Community Rewards program and how it will impact the Swim & Dive Booster Club fees in 2019 and future seasons.

As you may know, individual booster club fees in 2018 and prior years could be reduced by amounts contributed the AHS swim & dive program through the King Soopers Community Rewards program.

Unfortunately, I was recently informed by the Arapahoe High School athletic department that this policy is no longer allowable. The reason for this is that charitable contributions (such as King Soopers Community Rewards) used to reduce booster club fees for an individual violates regulations related to the charitable organization status (501c3) of not only the Swim & Dive Booster Club, but Arapahoe High School and Littleton Public Schools as well. As a result, any revenue (donations) that is run through a booster club’s account, must be used for the benefit of the entire booster club and cannot be used for private member benefit. As a booster club, we must be in compliance with this rule as of April 1, 2019. Any funds collected from the King Soopers Community Rewards after this date can no longer be use to offset booster club fees.

The good news is that any King Soopers credits you may have earned through March 31, 2019, can be applied to the 2020 season booster club fee. If you have a credit, I will contact you soon to let you know that amount. This policy, per the AHS Athletic Office, applies to all Arapahoe High School booster clubs.

I wanted to give you as much notice on this change in policy so that you can plan ahead for the 2020 swim & dive season. With that said, I am hoping you will continue to use (or begin to use) your King Soopers card to benefit the AHS Swim & Dive program. These contributions provide a significant portion of the total revenues of the booster club and contribute to the many activities and initiatives of the swim & dive booster club and team.

If you have any questions related to the above, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your support.
